The U.S. Peace Dollar was minted from 1921 to 1935 to commemorate the peace that followed World War I. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, it features Lady Liberty on the obverse and a bald eagle on the reverse, symbolizing peace and the end of conflict.  First issued in December 1921, the coin was created to honor the nation’s resilience and recovery after The Great War. The "U" in "IN GOD WE TRUST" was intentionally shaped as a "V" to honor our victory.
